In this analogy, a person has fallen down during a marathon, and cut her legs. The open wounds are soon staunched, and they heal and form a scab. However, the person continues on to run, and falls yet again, all the time hitting on the same spot of her previous injury. In the end, the injury becomes severe, and the initial wound has become an infected zone. The person has lost all her strength and energy to continue walking and running on.
She will never stand again.

I never thought I'd feel this way for ELDDS before, but maybe its time to take a reality check. We can't do it. We can't. And all those hopes and dreams and lies to myself that we can achieve more than what the sky presents to us, or what the seas challenge us - they're all just mere mirages and silly illusions for me to believe that we can strive on.

We've had a shipwreck, we've lost our ship and provisions and weapons to defend ourselves. We've been drifting in the sea all the while, and as treacherous winds and waves and creatures pose a danger to us, we have already lost some of the sailing crew.
We're not gonna make it to the shore.
